About Us

The roots of Ace Iron & Metal go clear back to the 1950s. The owner of Ace, Alan Levine, followed in his father's entrepreneurial footsteps by opening a small junkyard on Donaldson Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.

In 1964 Alan's father, Norman Levine, bought Fessman's Auto Wrecking and changed the name of the business to Norman's Auto Wrecking. The business was originally located on the corner of Main and Washington, a few blocks south of Downtown Columbus.

Alan followed his father to this location and changed the name of his junkyard to Ace Iron & Metal. Later, in 1979, all operations were moved to their current site on Groveport Road in Columbus.

In the early days, Alan remembers when 27 customers was a good day and 80 percent of his business came from peddlers bringing their scrap in on pushcarts. Over the years, the business has transformed from a small junkyard to a considerable scrap metal recycling operation servicing both retail and commercial customers.

Today, Ace Iron & Metal continues to thrive as a leader in Central Ohio within an industry that has become increasingly more vital to communities across the country and around the world.
